Meditation Instruction
![]() When a client asks me to name the single most important thing they can do on their own for their journey, my answer is easy: meditation. I know firsthand because it literally saved my life. In college, I was hospitalized with severe pain caused by the forming of digestive ulcers, induced by my stress-filled life. My doctor somberly sat me down and made it plain: I had to dramatically change my approach to life, or else I’d be dead in 10 years. Amongst other things, she recommended trying some kind of meditation. Scared into action, I found a teacher and began a daily practice.
Within weeks, those ulcers disappeared…never to return. Three decades later, my health remains at a high level. I know my daily meditation practices have been the single most important reason behind this. This isn’t surprising, as there is now an overwhelming body of evidence showing the significant physical and emotional health benefits of meditation, including lowering blood pressure, curing digestive illnesses, and healing hypertension. Beyond these physical and emotional benefits, meditation can also play a critical role in deepening and expanding our spiritual journey. By seeing beyond our human egos - so often enmeshed in busy thoughts, stress, and worries - meditation can be a beautiful doorway opening to the transcendent world of Divine oneness. During my most profound meditations, I am overwhelmed with waves of joy…and a deep sense of love and oneness with a greater force I call Divinity. Through meditation, I have come to profoundly know experientially (not theoretically) that the Universe is so much grander and more beautiful than we typically experience in this human dimension. As a result, I’ve felt a significant decrease in the power that the troubles and challenges of my daily life (including humanity’s problems) have over me. Meditation has reminded me of both the preciousness and the ephemeral nature of life…and how much more joy and love exists in the Universe waiting for us to discover and embody. I've taught meditation to literally thousands of people since the mid-90s in various venues - including the business and non-profit worlds - and to all ages, young and old. I currently teach individuals and groups both the philosophy behind and the actual process(es) of meditation. My ultimate aim is to instruct, empower, and inspire people to start their own life-changing practice. Of course, as everyone’s needs vary, I custom design my instruction so that it is tailored to the needs of each individual or particular group. So, whether you want to improve your physical health and/or to deepen your journey with the Divine, contact me to embark on this powerful journey together. |
Most people who consider starting a meditation practice have told me that their minds are just too busy to do so. But, it's very similar to getting into physical shape: after a short period of diligent practice,
our busy minds inevitably find calm…and so much more. The quieter my mind, the more I can hear. |
